Ali Kellner is a creator and has worked in almost every position in the animation industry but realized her passion lies in producing original content and working on developing / illustrating original IP.

She is the Creative Producer at her animation studio that she runs with her husband called Homework Studio

She teaches animation at Mohawk College

She’s a boy mom to a fur baby and a skin baby.

Originally from Montreal, Quebec, she attended both the Concordia University’s Film Animation program and the Bachelor of Animation program at Sheridan College with the hopes of continuing to create stories for children and adults alike. Trained in classical animation and design, her award winning film Nana was officially selected to screen at over 35 film festivals in North America and Europe, like TIFF Canada’s Top Ten and Raindance UK. It went on to win bronze at the DOC LA film festival and was screened on international flights with Air Canada aboard their en Route film selection. 

She has animated on productions such as Bravest Warriors, and Blink by National Geographic and has character designed for a number of TV development projects. She was the character designer for Escape from the Edge, a short film created through the Azrieli Foundation. She storyboarded on CTV’s award-winning Corner Gas Animated and storyboarded for Super Simple Songs on Youtube, creating shorts for preschoolers and toddlers. She directed and animated short interstitials for Let’s Go Luna! on PBS and directed the TED-Ed short How to Be a Better Friend . She was the art director for another TED-Ed short, What Staying Up All Night Does to the Brain. She also created an original IP and directed an animated preschool show for Peacock Jr.

She was appointed co-director for the advertising posters and videos for the 2019 and 2020 edition of the Toronto Animated Arts Festival Intl industry event and subsequent film festival. On of the video bumpers was selected to screen at the Ottawa Animation Festival in 2020.

Ali loves to create new television shows and pitch them to whoever is willing to listen. In 2019, along with writing partner David Elmaleh, she won 1st place at the Ottawa International Animation Festival’s Pitch This! with the animated tv show pitch Melrose Middle School which is based on the recollections of their elementary and middle school experiences. Most recently, she won 1st place in the 2020 Toronto Animated Arts Festival’s Big Pitch competition with her new adult show pitch, Lost and Found.
